IMPORTANT!

I just got a call from Betty. Betty does not have the Internet or a computer, but she found out about the post I wrote about her and called to say, "I'm 83, not 87, you brat!"

Haha, I stand corrected, and Betty, I love you even more and I hope you still love me!

Spring is here! I like these colors almost as much as I like the candy that makes up the colors. Yum.

Jason's latest reading material has some very weird and funny suggestions of how to be a good parent. Like, "Always make a towel sling for your kids after their bath so you can rough house with them a little bit but not too much so that they don't want to go to sleep."

Okay.

Last night was Tyrone's swimming banquet, and it was lovely. The food was great, the coaches and parents did a wonderful job of honoring the kids, and Ty was awarded a varsity letter! We were all so excited for him and can't wait to see it on his letterman jacket someday!

On Saturday, Jason and I had a little date night. We drove to a town much bigger than our own and had great fun at Chik-fil-a, Target, Old Navy, Macy's, and....

Babies R Us!

It was so much fun to try out all of the strollers and carseats, and to look at the incredible amount of paraphernalia that we're are supposed to acquire in the next four months. I think we've decided on this stroller and carseat combination - Chicco Cortina Travel System. Oooh, it's so nice!

Anyway, one of the BEST parts of our whole night was being able to park in this parking spot! We both got so excited over this little sign. Excuse the poor quality - I had to use my cell phone because my camera was at home.

On Friday morning, I went back to the sale and bought this jogging stroller. A double stroller. No, we are not having twins! But this is an incredibly nice Schwinn stroller that was such a good deal. I was there when the consigner dropped it off, and she was in tears about having to say goodbye to such a nice stroller. Jason and I decided that it was something we could use in the future, and since then, many people have told me we'll probably use it even with this baby because we can put the baby on one side and have the other side for storage. It will be nice to have such a smooth ride for our very bumpy sidewalks in town! We've been having fun pushing the stroller around the house and outside.

On Thursday I volunteered and then shopped at a local consignment sale. It's held twice a year, and I'm looking forward to the rest of the sales to come! I couldn't resist these precious little clothes. Most of them are yellow and green, but there are some boy clothes as well. Even though we're not going to find out what we're having ahead of time, and we could very likely have a girl, I couldn't pass by these never worn Eddie Bauer and Ralph Lauren outfits in case we do have a boy! I can't wait to meet our little one and put these cute clothes on him or her.

This is Betty. Betty goes to the Methodist church in town, but on Wednesdays at 6:45 and one Sunday a month, Betty graces us Presbyterians with her presence to play in the bell choir.
Betty is the funniest and spunkiest 83-year-old I know, and maybe even the funniest and spunkiest PERSON I know in general. She says what she thinks, all the time. I love seeing Betty every week.

I want to be Betty when I grow up.

Tonight we made homemade personal pizzas. Yum! I put roasted red peppers, caramelized onions, and mushrooms on mine. Delicious!

Monday, March 21

Since we found out I'm pregnant, I've been thinking a lot about doing things more naturally around our house. So we've been eating more healthy and natural foods to start. Then we had a drain that was clogged, and I really did not want to spend so much money to pour chemicals down the drain. I just happened to get an email that day about unclogging drains with just baking soda and vinegar. I also had a handy little tool from Jason's dad to help. And it worked!

Sunday, March 21

Another beautiful sunny day out. We took a hike through the state park nearby and had a lovely time. Until I had to pee. And unlike Ty, I could not use a tree!

Saturday, March 20

We had such a fun day on Saturday. One of my very best friends called me last week to tell me that her husband is going to be running in an ultra-marathon (50 miles!) in October in State College, PA, which is close to us! We've already started making plans to spend the weekend with them, so we drove there for the day to check everything out. It is such a neat place, and we had a great time!

My other best friend called me while we were there to tell me that she is engaged! A day full of wonderful news from my dearest friends :)

This picture says "college life" to me. It was a beautiful sunny day out, and the college kids were thoroughly enjoying it!

We may have a bit of a problem. Since we got the baby furniture a week ago, our dogs have been acting up - BIG TIME. It may just be a coincidence but we were thinking maybe they realize something is about to change and they are not happy. Whatever the case may be, I am not happy with coming home to messes like these as I have done three times this week. I was thinking we could move the furniture down to the basement, but they really do need to get used to it. I'm not sure what would be best. I just hope this doesn't keep happening!

PS - This picture does not do justice to the mess that was spread all around all three rooms of our first floor. Including on our brand new carpet.

PPS - It also does not do justice to the wrath I felt when my hour of resting was replaced by cleaning up all the junk. They should know not to mess with a tired pregnant woman.

Today I did my new FitMama workout DVD for the first time! I found this at the consignment sale where I got the baby furniture, and I was so excited to find some kind of workout that wouldn't make me worry I was doing something wrong. It was fun - yoga, stretching, and "labor prep," and I am SORE! There is also salsa dancing which you are supposed to alternate with the yoga. I'm excited to have a way to stay in shape during my pregnancy!

Every morning, I look in the mirror and realize that I'm bigger than I was the day before! It amazes me how fast this baby is growing, it truly does. It is now the size of a cantaloupe and is kicking away! This week, Jason got to feel it kick for the first time. Hopefully that will happen much more often now :)

Tuesday, March 16

I found a new website that I love very much. Heavenly Homemakers is a blog written by a mother of four boys and it has LOTS of great ideas about eating healthy and naturally. I have been using some of her ideas this week, and it's been great so far! The thing I like best about her is that she does things all ahead of time. She makes food ahead of time and freezes it so it's ready to go when it's time! Yesterday, I made two loaves of homemade wheat bread, mini apple pies, and turkey sausage, plus sloppy cornbread and fruit salad for dinner.

Monday, March 15

Guess what's back????

We have a little ice cream shop in town that has very very very good custard and yogurt. They change the flavors each day and have a calendar to let you know about the changes. All of this is so wonderful, but I found out something terrible about ice cream shops in Pennsylvania.

THEY CLOSE WHEN IT'S COLD OUT! As does the drive-in theater. My other favorite place in town.

Anyway, March has arrived, and the Meadows is open again!!! So we went on Monday, and I was a very happy camper :)

Saturday, March 13

We had such a great day on Saturday! First was the annual St. Patrick's Day parade which was cold, windy, and very short. But I sat my pregnant booty in a comfy Florida Gators chair and had the radio station man throw me three bags of chips, so I enjoyed myself :)
Then we drove over to the new pizza place in town and had their white pizza (with basil and tomatoes). Yum!
After lunch, all the Stubbe's packed up and drove an hour to a town that has a REAL MALL and BARNES AND NOBLE and BURLINGTON COAT FACTORY and OLIVE GARDEN and TARGET and all sorts of other places that we don't have in our own town! We got very excited about all the sights and had a lot of fun shopping at the mall, Target (new maternity clothes for me!), and Baby Depot.
This town also had a Red Robin so we went there for dinner. I've never been there before but it was SO good! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has one around.
I love this picture of Jason and me from dinner.

Friday, March 12

I went to a consignment sale on Friday and fought my way through 100s of crazed, pregnant, and hormonal women to look for baby stuff. I'd never been to one of these sales before, but I absolutely want to go back! I found a lot of stuff, but the best find was a matching Eddie Bauer swing and high chair!! I love it because it's neutral and beautiful and doesn't look like it's for a boy or girl in particular. I also found an umbrella stroller, a pack and play, a diaper bag, a baby carrier, and some other little things. I can't wait to go back again in the fall! It was even worth the 2 hour wait in line to check out.

Thursday, March 11

My friend Kristin taught me to knit today! Three of her children take piano lessons from Jason, so while they were practicing, I started to knit my first project - a scarf! I really love hand knitted baby clothes, so I can't wait to move on to hats and booties for our little babe.

Thank you, Kristin! I had so much fun!

A fun night at home...

Breakfast for dinner.
An old Disney movie about leprechauns - Darby O'Gill and the Little People (starring Sean Connery in 1959!!!!)
Me on my computer on one couch.
Jason sleeping away on the other.
Baby Mango kicking away!

10: 31/326

Okay so I cheated a little bit yesterday on my picture taking. I got in bed and realized I hadn't taken a single picture all day. But we did watch the movie 2012 last night, so I thought this would work as a substitute...

Jason and Ty watched this movie two nights ago. I was feeling tired and my leg was bothering me, so I didn't see most of it, and I saw none of the end. So last night (in place of AMERICAN IDOL and GLEE!!!) we took it over to Jason's parents' house and watched it with them. Don't worry, we taped AI and Glee to watch another day.

This was an enthralling movie - that's the best word I can use for it. The effects were incredible and the story lines were touching. I somehow managed not to cry, but I think that's only because I was fighting to keep my eyes open for the last 45 minutes. Not the movie's fault, I just fall asleep a lot these days.

I'm not sure what I believe about the end of the world, and I really don't know if it will happen anything like it occurs in the movie, but it was fun to watch and I would recommend it to anyone!

Today Jason told me that a few people said something to him about my facebook picture and my baby bump. He told them and me that I was a lot bigger than that now, and after I took this picture, I realized that he was right! It's amazing to see how fast I'm growing and to know that it's because that baby is growing so fast as well.

Scroll down for about a weeks' worth of pictures! I finally caught myself up!

Sunday, March 7

This is what happens when you've been hanging out in a hospital for a few days and the sun comes out. Julie and I pretended we were laying on the beach and getting a tan :) It was lovely.

10: 28/326

Saturday, March 6

Over the course of too many days in the hospital, our patient became very weary of laying in the hospital bed. My pregnant belly and I felt the same way about sitting in a hard chair. So occasionally we switched places which made us both happy. Jason joined me on this occasion. It was always funny when a doctor or nurse walked in the room and said, "You're not the patient..."

10: 27/326

Friday, March 5

On Friday, Jason got to go with me to my doctors' appointment and hear the baby's heartbeat! We had so much fun! The doctor told us that we had a very active baby, and I have to agree because the little sweet potato has been dancing away this week. We took a video, so I'm going to see if I can figure out how to post that, but here is a picture of the event as well!

PS - WOW my belly is white!

Thursday, March 4

We had a little visitor in our house for a few days. While her parents were busy in Pittsburgh, Jessie stayed at our house and played with Wilson and Windsor. Ty and I took this picture with her to send to the rest of our family at the hospital.

Wednesday, March 3

We had a little bit of drama and trauma in our lives last week but all is well now. After being robbed and suffering a heart attack, Jason's mom is now recovering at home and doing very well. We're glad she's back home! Jason spent the end of last week in Pittsburgh with his mom at the hospital, and I joined them on Friday. I am so glad that he was able to be there to keep both his mom and dad company, but it was weird to spend two nights without him. This was the longest time we've been apart since we got married, and I definitely missed having him next to me! However, don't think that I was lonely - this is what my bed looked like. What would I do without these big goofballs?!

10: 24/326

Tuesday, March 2

Jason and I have been reading through I, II, and III John every night before we go to bed. It's a great way to end the day, and to learn more about God, ourselves, and each other. This verse really stuck out to me.

I John 5:3 - For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.

That's so big for me... Yes I know I am to keep God's commandments, but they are not burdensome?? As in, I should I always be joyful when doing what God asks of me. That's hard, I think. Serving God is not always easy, and it's not always what I want to do, but it's what God asks me to do, and not only that, but He wants to do them with a joyful heart. Yikes.

But this is why I love getting into God's word - I always find something new I need to work on in my life.

This is where Windsor sat today.

All day.

And I was sick and too exhausted to fight with him.

So he stayed.

(And isn't he cute?)

10: 22/326

Yesterday, Jason decided that Windsor needed one more haircut so that his head fit a little bit better with his tiny little body. Windsor wasn't thrilled to have the razor on his head, but he looks good and it was fun to watch. We can see his eyeballs now without having to push his hair off of his face.

10: 21/326

Saturday night - we headed over to Jason's parents house for dinner and a movie! We watched Nanny McPhee which I love!!! This is their adorable dog Jessie.
